Song Challenge: Day 7

Day 7: A song that reminds you of a certain event

This song always reminds me of the time that I was working at a record store in St. Louis. When no one could agree on what to play at the store The Flaming Lips were a good alternative.

Song Challenge: Day 5

Day 5: A song that reminds you of someone

This is a strange topic as I would think that most songs would remind you of someone. Well… I hate to say it, but this one’s brought to you by Chris Brown. At least the video is ill and has some killer dance moves.

Song Challenge: Day 4

Day 4: A song that makes you sad

A song that makes me sad? There are a lot of Disney songs that can turn me into a wreck. I am so high from writing yesterday’s post and listening to “Down” that I can barely think of a song that makes me sad. Oh yeah, except for that song from Dumbo. What a tear jerk.

Song Challenge: Day 3

Day 3: A song that makes you happy

I have been known to drop whatever I am doing and begin randomly singing this song. God help me if it comes on in a bar or in a store. I have been seen dancing down aisles, singing along, and possibly fist pumping. I could be in the worst mood ever and this song will come on and completely turn everything around. This song makes me HAPPY. It’s the beat. It’s the flow. It’s the down, down, down, down, down …dooooooown doooooooooown.

Drake – Marvin’s Room

I’m inexplicably excited about this album dropping.

Cups of the Rose
Bitches in my old phone
I should call one and go home
I’ve been in this club too long
The woman that I would try
Is happy with a good guy

But I’ve been drinking so much
That I’ma call her anyway and say
“Fuck that nigga that you love so bad
I know you still think about the times we had”
I say “fuck that nigga that you think you found
And since you picked up I know he’s not around”

Michael Jackson: Back In The Day

1979, the year of Off the Wall and his first nose job, marks an obscure crisis. Around the start of that year, they offer him the gay lead in the film version of A Chorus Line, but he declines the role, explaining, “I’m excited about it, but if I do it, people will link me with the part. Because of my voice, some people already think I’m that way—homo—though I’m actually not at all.”
