I sang karaoke for the first time last night. My song? Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. I was pretty
nervous terrified the entire time, but people said I did okay. I wondered if people just said that because they wanted to make me feel better or if I really did do okay. I was at a Halloween party for work, remember having 9+ beers, and before I knew it, I was on stage, mic in hand, belting it out.
I leave for Florida in 3 days. I’m ready to go, but still need to do laundry, get a haircut, clean the house, pack, get priorities straight, and make arrangements for the sprout.
The Cardinals have made it to the World Series again. I’ve been watching and yelling profanity at the screen when I deem it necessary. I’m ready for them to play at home on Tuesday.
I bought two ties last night and then remembered that I have no idea how to tie one. So, doing a quick, “How do I tie a tie?” search online returned an excellent site, tie-a-tie.net, that has not one, not two, not three, but four different knots for your liking. I am thinking that I may go with either the Windsor or the Pratt knot.
And, if you’re curious, the wikipedia page on neckties has other knot variations.
The girl and I leave for Florida in T-Minus 20 days. I’m terribly excited. We’re staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort (it looks so posh!) and have free three day passes to Universal Studios and Sea World. I am really looking forward to getting out of town for a little while. We’re going from the 26th to the 30th of October, which means we’ll be able to experience Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. I am not a fan of anything scary. I hate horror movies and I hate haunted houses. In fact, I tend to be my girliest in situations like those. I hope the girl feels the same and we can steer clear of anything as such. I am looking forward to nice weather, some free stuff, and just being away.
I love my hometown, my family, my kid, my job, and all the like – but, the thought of getting away is so appetizing.
